THE CRISIS COMMUNICATION
Offers » The Crisis Communication
Crisis situations bring risks which can easily compromise the company´s goodwill, cause the company´s failure to observe laws, endanger lives or the environment, annihilate profit, make good workers depart, etc. Such situations are utterly undesirable, and conditions have to be established to prevent their occurrence. Yet they can occurr and do. Investigative journalists of today search actively for crisis situations, for they tend to increase the marketability of their magazines and newspapers. They are even ready to abuse credulity of an unsuspecting employee just to get their thriller story.
In terms of preparing the system of crisis communication, as a prevention, we keep searching for crisis situations, prepare the solutions and, naturally, also the way how to communicate them and with whom. An apt mode of communication can eliminate losses and prevent the entire chain reaction of consequentional loss-generating crisis situations.
Implementation schedule
Within the scope of the crisis communication, we implement two parts designed to prepare the customer to effectively cope with such situations and communicate them.
A) Preparing the system of crisis communication In this part, the management system and the processes needed for coping with crisis situations are being prepared. Implementation of this part includes:
- Identification of crisis situations
- Concept of crisis communication scenario(s)
- Appointment of a crisis team
- Definition of responsibilities, spheres of activities and behaviour of the crisis team members
- Setting of the process procedure for coping with a crisis situation
- Rules to follow in dealing with the target groups (employees, the public service, the media,…)
B) Crisis communication training This part is intended mainly for selected workers of the crisis team and managers to train coping with particular crisis situations, thus mastering the ability of appropriate communication within the scope of the pre-prepared crisis communication scenarios. They should be ready to manage exercise situations and eliminate the identified risks they bring . The communication training includes:
- Principles of crisis communication
- Preparation of appropriate communication attitudes
- Creating communication strategies for particular crisis situations
- Practicing communication in crisis situations on camera and analysing the results reached
The customer is free to choose whether they will want to be trained for the separate parts with their own scenarios, or they will ask for implementation of the crisis communication system including the key personnel training.
