The media competences of the management rank among very significant skills that senior executives are required to master. Although they are not used on a daily basis, they do decide whether the organization will be successful or even existing when they gain importance, which is exactly at the very moment when they have begun getting the media attention. Developing these competences is, therefore, of paramout importance to every company, bringing them an added value as they are capable of presenting themselves not through a single contact worker but through the entire management. The competence of media communication reaches beyond the crisis situations. It is a part of the successful company´s public image that its senior representatives are esteemed and consulted experts on issues that the company deals with in the media. For them to become such experts, they absolutely need to understand their work and be able to effectively communicate with journalists.

- What to do when we have become the subject of the media attention?

- How to react when addressed
- How to prepare for an interview with a journalist
- How to communicate with a journalist, how to answer questions
- How to play the role of an expert
- How to provide information to the media
- The most common problems in communicating with the media
- What to do when they write lies about us
- What to do if the information provided by us has been misinterpreted
- What to do when the media have chosen to stand mute about us when we feel they had better do just the opposite
- How to behave if we play the role of a „defendant“
- How to behave if we are being denounced by experts
- Long-term cultivation of relations with the media
The training takes the form of a theoretical lecture followed by a practical exercise of selected situations conducted by a lecturer, a professional writer, a media consultant. The ratio of theory to practical exercise stands at 1:1. Also, a discussion and clarification of issues the participants are interested in, analysis of specific situations, mistakes and successful communication form an important part of the training.
