Communication with the team and the team - effective communication - Face to Team

Communication Team to Face is a specific communication, focused on how to communicate effectively in a team and the team as a whole. It is a more difficult communication than communication Face to Face (communication with a particular individual). The communicator must be aware of the needs, behavior, beliefs, relationships ... that team prevails and, accordingly, choses the right communication tools and skills.

Communication with the team is more challenging than the one with an individual. In an individual, you might know their needs and interests more specifically. A team si made up of individuals (say, as few as 2 workers), but let us make it from 5 people and more. Naturally, the way of communication within a team of 10 people is going to be different from a team of 100.  

In communicatio with the team, there is a sizeable increase in the share of rules determined by a given social group. The team represents a social group! Also, there are some unwritten rules at work here that, at times, even the very team members are not aware of. This is why we cordially recommend managers to take interest in sociology, thus they might prevent needless conflict situations.  

Face-to-Team  communication

The rules determined by the verbal and non-verbal communication remain in force here. In addition, the speaker has to master the skills of presentation too, as they are going to be making speeches facing more people than one. In communication with the team, the focus needs to be on the following:  

  • target group and its characteristics 
  • relevant needs of the team
  • interpersonal relations within the team  
  • the mission and targets of the group 
  • the values acknowledged
  • the team´s history
  • the team´s expertise and knowledge
  • ...
